Project: Win-a-friend in Sallisaw, OK

In March, Elder Bruce Wilkinson hosted the “Project: Win-a-Friend” evangelism training program at the Sallisaw Seventh-day Adventist Church in Oklahoma. Elder Wilkinson and Elder Jim Landelius, pastor of the Sallisaw SDA church, began their weekend-long project by meeting with important city officials, a process necessary in connecting the church with local municipal government offices in order to help support the community. On Friday night, Elder Wilkinson spoke about the commitment, dedication, and encouragement it takes to effectively reach out to the community. He focused on some biblical views of rejection Sabbath morning, and ended with hands-on training in the afternoon.
Sabbath afternoon, over a dozen were present for the preparation seminar and outreach field training. Those in attendance voted to take up the programs and work as a church unit. Sallisaw SDA Church is currently working on projects for an upcoming evangelistic endeavor in their community. A local map has been placed in the sanctuary to track progress made and contacts to follow up.
Native Ministries is viewed as an organized North American Division entity working to prepare our churches and pastors for the closing events of earth’s history. God has shown His approval on this project.
