In late May of 2009, Northern New England Conference President Elder Mike Ortel requested Elder Bruce Wilkinson, North American Division Outreach Training Director, to present Project: Win a Friend in the NNE conference. Elder Ortel had attended the NAD Native Outreach Training seminar that was discussed at the Myrtle Beach Ministries Convention in January.
Over a three day period, Elder Wilkinson demonstrated the community-oriented evangelism series to several pastors and bible workers around the NNE areas beginning with West Lebanon, New Hampshire. He also visited Portland and Bangor, Maine. In addition to the seminars, Wilkinson preached a Sabbath sermon and held two one and a half hour “break-out” sessions for church elders and deacons at Camp Lawroweld in Northern Maine.

The responses to the training presentations were outstanding as multiple requests for future training seminars were scheduled in various locations where a Native presence was recognized. The Conference elders and deacons caught a vision as the training concepts opened their minds to many outreach potentials in their surrounding church districts.
Present at several training presentations, Elder Ortel was extremely excited about the possibilities the Native Training program is expected to make in the Northern New England Conference over the next year. Elder Wilkinson considered it a pleasure and a joy executing this assignment, seeing that God is working hard through the eager pastors, elders, deacons, and bible workers.
