Project: Win-a-Friend
.
The primary goal of Project Win-A-Friend is to:
  1. Equip willing Laypeople for outreach ministry using classroom and field training.
  2. Hold a mini-series of meetings targeting interests generated by church members.
For church members to find a satisfying ministry that will produce fruit for the kingdom is a process requiring creative thinking and motivation. The Native Ministries 7 Union team, under the direction of Elder Hal Thomsen, has prepared a training project to include:
  • Friday night vespers focusing on commitment, rededication, and encouragement.
  • Sabbath morning worship service describing three biblical views of rejection.
  • A Sabbath afternoon seminar teaching four simple ministry projects which train laymen in successful community outreach:
    1. Outreach made easy / to include the shy, timid laypeople whose desire is to be active.
    2. Community assessment tool to find people willing to attend church programs.
    3. How to hold a Book Fair for community people asking to be invited.
    4. Learning how to host a meeting with city officials and business owners to increase Adventist awareness in the community.
  • Sunday afternoon community outreach will include hands-on training in three ministries covered in the class sessions.
